For the show I had to complete seven pieces (four small, three larger than 30"x30"). Since then, I've completed four more, and have been commissioned to do whatever I wish to eight 4' x 8' sheets of 2" thick plywood.
I believe that the lack of funds with which to develop and print my photos is partially to blame for my recent fascination with painting, but it can't go without saying that when you've sold four out of eleven new pieces of art work, you get a little more than "inspired". Granted, the original intent of painting was a quick and easy solution to filling up space on the walls for the art show, but as I got further into it, and began experimenting with alternative methods of applying paint (such as palette knifing) and mixing different media, ideas for different paintings wouldn't stop flooding into my head.
So, painting + buyers = happy me.
I'm not sure when I'll pick up my camera again, but I'm not really worried about it. Oh and there will be new work up soon.
Only paintings.
